(Genesis 22:2) "Then God said, 'Take your son, your only son, whom you love - Isaac - and go to the region of Moriah.Isaac is a reference to the biblical story of the binding of Isaac, in which Abraham is commanded by God to sacrifice his only son, Isaac, to prove his loyalty and love.long" "Isaac's all alone Poul" and of course "Poul. I believe this would do wonders for the psychological horror aspect of the game as the player would perhaps hear whispers similar to the one's heard on the Ishimura of Octavia saying things like, "Why did you leave Poul?" "You have been gone for so. I personally see a huge potential for a more psychological horror based Dead Space game with his fathers story if the player were to perhaps assume the role of Isaac's father before being sent into deep space where you become familiar with Isaac's mother and Isaac as a younger man and see the Clarke's as they were before the Necromorph scourge only to have Poul accept the contract with CEC and leave Isaac and Octavia behind. I personally see huge potential in Poul's story as both of Isaac's parents are left almost entirely un-mentioned in the main trilogy leaving huge amounts of creative freedom for Visceral. With that said I personally feel that with the ending of the DS3 DLC that the story of Isaac Clarke is over and due to the nature of that ending a continuing storyline based upon Isaac's story picking up after the DLC is simply not what Visceral envisioned and if Isaac where to make a return in DS4 that it would be in the form of Pre-Ishimura Isaac.Įdit: I am sorry for writing so much I am just such a huge fan of these games. Now if they were to go this route DS4 would likely be a prequel as Isaac is nearly 50 and even if the canon had Poul surviving his deep space mission he would be an engineer well past the age of retirement. In my opinion the story of Isaac's father is the most likely place for the series to go with DS4 as it is mentioned that Isaac lost contact with his father, who was also an engineer sent on a mission into deep space, before the start of DS1 and Isaac's mother became a devout Unitologist in part due to Poul Clarke's (Isaac's father) disappearance. SPOILERS AHEAD I SUCK AT FORMATTING BIG SORRY: Also a reason for the character to want to survive (family/girlfriend/whatever they choose) They have a planet full of necromorphs who have been adapting to the enviroment(new, countless enemies). They have a protagonist similar to Isaac but no idea how to deal with the necromorphs. That way they could have the crew for characters to build relationships/kill off, whatever they choose to do. I think a good idea would be to introduce a ship that has been on a deep space mission and finally returns back to their home planet only to find it's been taken over by necromorphs, and you control the engineer of that ship, who is trying to find his daughter/wife/girlfriend/family whatever in the ruins of his home planet. Isaac has seen too much to be scared anymore, it's hard to be scared when your character is like "more necromorphs? I know what to do, relax" Isaac is probably one of my favorite characters of all time, but I think they should bring in someone new and get rid of the co-op, I want the game to go back to survival horror.
